Developing an Entrepreneurship Culture in Young People using readily available Waste Materials as a Way of Conserving our Environment.

Our Story

A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR EMPOWERING THE YOUTH

In the year 2019, a 16-Year-Old Girl, Patricia Makele, then a student at Precious Blood Girls Riruta Secondary School in Kenya, full of  love for People and the Environment and having experienced the challenges facing society, came to conclusion that “Nothing Changes unless we change it “ and that’s how the Makele Youth Development Journey was born

Makele Youth Development Journey is a transformational bridge for young people linking their talents, their inner abilities, and their invisible potential to self-employment and the labor  Market through development, innovation, and creativity programs using readily available waste materials. This program helps to unlock future opportunities as they evolve and grow. By putting emphasis on potential value addition on beautiful products made from waste materials, Makele Youth Development Journey assists young people with particular niches on innovative abilities.

The Goal

Makele Youth Development Journey has an ambitious goal of raising the visibility of skills in over 4000 talented, curious, creative, and innovative young people by the end of 2022. We believe that their invisible abilities and their inner potential can be linked to the labor market and self-employment through our transformational program and eventually become community changers.

Makele Youth Transformational Program develops an entrepreneurship culture in young people using readily available waste materials as a way of conserving our environment so that eventually they can embrace it as their career. This is achieved by promoting equal opportunities to the young people through Non-formal education using waste materials but at the same time offering complimentary between formal and non-formal education.

With the launch of 1000 drop boxes for collection of waste papers , Makele Youth Development Journey aims at empowering FOUR Young People per box bringing the total to 4000 Young people by the end of 2022
