What We Do
Makele Youth Development Journey believes that there is no quick fix to the many social and economic issues affecting young people given educational and cultural background of every young person.
It’s for this reason that Makele Youth Development Journey is building a community of partners through social networks that sees young people as active participants in the resolution of economic and social challenges. This is helping us to build a community that has a strong Adult –Young People relationship that gives an ear to the young people in regard to Youth Employment, participation, and Social Inclusion.
It is amazing how young people’s lives are being transformed as a result of joint action with our social partners as they continue to support innovative and creative potential in young people and as a result increase their employability. Your partnership with us is highly appreciated.
A strong pillar
Makele Youth Development Journey has an ambitious goal of raising the visibility of skills in over 4000 talented, curious, creative, and innovative young people by the end of 2022.
The Makele Cluster Model
Makele Youth Development Journey transformational Program operates within Clusters. They are then divided into sub-clusters for the inclusivity of our young people. Our Cluster Model constitutes Inter-Cluster relationships that are a critical avenue for acquiring resources and knowledge to enhance competitiveness amongst young people. We believe that young people, being members of our clusters, have the power to turn their natural closeness into concrete help to each other.
Makele Youth Development Journey transformational Program operates within Clusters. They are then divided into sub-clusters for the inclusivity of our young people. Our Cluster Model constitutes Inter-Cluster relationships that are a critical avenue for acquiring resources and knowledge to enhance competitiveness amongst young people. We believe that young people, being members of our clusters, have the power to turn their natural closeness into concrete help to each other. Our cluster pull strategy approach insists on the productive functioning of the cluster group and their cooperation keeping in mind that the cluster can influence the environment to have many young people empowered.
The Cluster model has also helped us to improve our organizational knowledge and be able to incentivize and motivate our young people as they strengthen the bond amongst themselves and in the end strengthen their relationship with each other. By application of digital Technology, our young people are hard pressed to continue with the sense of influence that breeds integration and fulfillment of needs even when they move from a cluster to another geographical location.
Our Transformational program incorporates many young people with disabilities or health problems with the aim of minimizing risks of future inactivity and social exclusion.
Volunteers
Our volunteers help to enhance the capacity of our workers by promoting innovation and creativity in young people through training and continued professional development programs.
The competence of Makele Youth Development Journey workers is crucial to the success of our Youth Transformational Program. Our volunteers help our young people to become aware that they are acquiring competences in non-formal settings.
They help young people during their learning process and also give guidance during the creation of learning plans reflecting on and assessment of learning. In addition, our volunteers help our young people to communicate the competencies that they have gained to the employers in the labor market and also Youth clubs and Youth work initiatives.
Our staff, Youth workers, facilitators, and volunteers recognize acquired competencies amongst our youth.
