TWWIP

(Turning Wooden Waste into Products)

TWWIP Initiative is a groundbreaking climate change project that stands for Turning Wooden Waste into Products, upcycling used wooden items to empower youth & conserve the environment.

Makele Youth Development Journey promotes creative upcycling of used wooden materials into new, functional, and marketable products as part of its environmental conservation and youth empowerment mission.

This initiative transforms discarded wood from furniture, construction waste and other sources into valuable items such as household furniture, storage units, décor products and practical community tools.

Through this process, young people gain hands on skills in woodworking, design and product innovation while learning the principles of sustainable resource use and circular economy thinking. It reduces environmental waste by extending the life cycle of materials that would otherwise be discarded or burned.

By combing craftsmanship with entrepreneurship, the program creates opportunities for youth to generate income, build enterprises and contribute to greener communities. Ultimately, it demonstrates how creativity and sustainability can work together to turn waste wood into opportunities for both economic empowerment and environmental protection.
