Makele Entrepreneurship Educational Training (MEET) Initiative is an Enterprise Education program that equips Makele Youth with pre- and post-entrepreneurship information with the aim of helping them to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities so that they are able to make judgments about the desirability of entrepreneurship. The program takes into consideration the challenges that young entrepreneurs face, mainly Financial Capital, Human Capital, Social Capital, market failures, low value addition to their products, and low market entry.
MEET is a non-formal Transformational learning program for young people that is grounded in a set of educational values and principles. It is a targeted learning process that supports the development of the young people’s potential, creativity, talent, initiative, social responsibilities, and the acquisition of related knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values.
Through experimental learning, mentorship, and hands–on projects, participants are introduced to key areas such as Idea development, basic business planning, financial literacy, innovation thinking, and problem solving.
Post–entrepreneurship support further strengthens their capacity in business growth, sustainability, and adaptation to market challenges.
By combining structured learning with practical exposure, the program helps young people move beyond theory into action, enabling them to evaluate risks, recognize opportunities, and develop viable enterprises. Ultimately, it fosters a generation of empowered youth who can make informed entrepreneurial decisions and contribute meaningfully to economic and community development.
