MYDJ SCRAP-IN (Sustainable Creative Recycling and Production Initiative) is a climate change action project that is led by community youth, transforming recycling into practical income – generating innovation.
Through this initiative, discarded and unused metal materials are collected, sorted and repurposed into functional engineering solutions that address real community and industrial needs.
This process supports both environmental sustainability and youth – led enterprise development by reducing waste while creating valuable products. Recycled metal becomes the foundation for designing and building innovative systems such as Water tank Washing Machines and Air Pressure Moisture Removers which serve water hygiene and compressed air quality needs in local industries.
By linking recycling with engineering innovation, Makele Youth is building a circular economy model where waste is not an end product but a resource for invention. The program equips young people with technical skills in fabrication, design thinking and entrepreneurship, enabling them to turn scrap materials into market-ready solutions that improve efficiency, sanitation and environmental protection.
Through this approach, Makele Youth is not only promoting cleaner communities but also developing sustainable youth enterprises driven creativity, recycling and practical engineering innovation.
